Here is some helpful advice for getting your pool ready for the swim season from our friends at S. R. Smith. We hope everyone has a safe Memorial Day weekend.
In the pool business, we know Memorial Day weekend is the kickoff to pool season! In addition to getting the water in ship shape, it’s a good time to inspect your deck equipment and ensure it is safe and ready for use:
Check the undersides of diving boards for wear, look for any cracks or damage, and tighten any loose hardware. Damaged equipment should be removed from service immediately and replaced.Check slides for cracks in the surface and look for loose connections or missing hardware. Replace and tighten any hardware. Damaged slides should be removed from service immediately and replaced.Thoroughly inspect and clean mounting hardware. Use warm water and a gentle soap or detergent with a soft cloth to treat any rusting. Rinse well. Visit our website for a list of suggested cleaners.Rinse all external lift components with fresh water, check gears (if applicable) for excessive corrosion, check for loose or missing hardware and replace/tighten as necessary. Make sure all cable connections are properly secured.
