It’s that time of year again where the pool will serve as the perfect backdrop for a party outdoors. So what does it take to be the “hostess with the mostest?” Here are a few tips to create a party where everyone will enjoy themselves. Rather than having to buy extra things to decorate, get creative with what you have. If you’ve got a kiddie pool on hand for your little one, turn it into a large ice chest for all the drinks. All those buckets the kids like to play with? Turn those into food bowls and use them for fruit or chips. Put the frisbees to good use and turn them upside down and float some votives around in the pool at night to give the pool a little illumination. Don’t go overboard with food especially if it’s a children’s party. Appetizers and finger foods are just as good as a full course meal, so think along those lines and find foods that don’t require you to serve three courses but will still fill people up. When you’re outside, don’t worry about tons of table space. Get our your lawn chairs and camping chairs, blow up a few rafting floats and place your towels all over the yard. This kind of scenery will be just as good, if not better, as table and chairs that seat everyone. Don’t forget the music. Be sure to set up a stereo system and speakers so you can play tunes that fit the party. And make sure all the pool toys are accessible and ready to go. Last but not least, don’t forget to have fun.
