Cloudy Water: Cloudy water can be attributed to either chemical or physical causes. Common chemical causes include the following:

• High PH
• High total alkalinity
• High calcium hardness
• Low (or No) free chlorine residual
• High levels of combined chlorine
• Improper product addition

If the water is in proper balance, and chemicals have been added properly, then you should look to physical contributions to cloudy water. These include:

• Inadequate circulation
• Poor filtration
