Now is the time to start watching out for chinch bugs in the lawn. During the summer months you may see dry areas in the grass. Be sure to investigate these spots as it may be chinch bug damage that will rapidly spread and damage large sections of grass. You can usually spot the little bugs if you press your hand down on the area in question for a minute as they may walk across your hand. Yuck!(this might be a good time to wear gloves) There are a number of treatments you can find a local stores to aid in managing these bugs.
